Dune Lantern No. 1

A sculptural light object developed from a system of 12 identical sandstone components. Each element is composed of an upper and lower section, rotated to form a continuous circular structure that encloses the light source.

The layered geometry interacts with light, allowing illumination to filter through the structure and activate the material’s depth and texture. Rather than emitting direct light, the object produces a soft, diffused glow that emphasizes rhythm, repetition, and mass.

Through its material weight and fluid geometry, the work explores how light can be integrated into solid form, creating an atmosphere that is calm, grounded, and spatially present.
